In December 2021 Godess Clemons had the unique pleasure of birthing her organization HEALED Incorporated to address a critical need for the growing number of homeless individuals.
Godess’s heart was anguished, when over the years she begin seeing people broken, hurting, homeless, and in need of assistance. The feeling of helplessness often overwhelmed her heart and brought her to tears knowing she did not have the monetary capacity or resources at her immediate disposal to help.
As a struggling single parent who’s child’s father was tragically taken due to gun violence, Godess found herself trying to make ends meet and realizing that she herself was one pay check away from her and her young son finding themselves in a similar position. It was through this focus that Godess decided something must be done to address this burden. With God’s guidance she begin to accept the call to the homeless community and prepared to launch Healed Incorporated.
At HEALED, each person has the support they need to overcome their current circumstances and achieve their personal goals.
With no funding or team, and little community awareness and understanding of the issues facing the homeless community, Godess took her own personal life experience with homelessness and her relationship with God and formulated a plan to fight against homelessness globally.
HEALED is based on Christian principles and belief, as well as 21st Century Skills for Success and Maslow’s hierarchy of needs where not only basic resources of safety and security are provided, but individuals are valued for their voices as spokespersons of their experience with community and others.
At HEALED, each person has the support they need to overcome their current circumstances and achieve their personal goals. HEALED provides tools, guidance, and community connections to help enhance adult lives each day and give them a fresh chance at a new beginning.
